Wellness & Recovery Specialist - Absecon, NJ
Collaborative Support Programs of NJ, mental health not-for-profit, seeks a F/T Wellness Specialist for a new project in West Cape May providing services to adults diagnosed with Mental Illness and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder/DD or dual diagnosis. The Wellness & Recovery Specialist advocates, promotes, conducts and coordinates Wellness and Recovery activities for the persons in recovery in the assigned region. Qualifications: B.S. in social work or related field plus 1 yr direct social service experience providing service to individuals with a mental health illness or developmental disability OR- A.A. plus 4 yrs of direct social service experience providing service to individuals with a mental health illness or developmental disability required. Excellent written and verbal skills, strong assessment skills and organizational skills. Ability to manage crisis; strong computer skills; valid NJ driver's license a must. The position is for 30 hours per week on weekends. Responsibilities: Works collaboratively with persons served to develop and enhance living skills necessary for full community participation. Able to model and teach living skills and assist individuals in setting and achieving personal recovery and wellness goals. Candidate must have good listening and motivational skills to effectively engage persons served and create a positive sense of community in shared housing settings B.S. in related field and 1 year relevant work experience required or A.A. with 4 plus years related work experience. Total of 20 hours per week with flexible schedule available. Responsibilities: Provides individual and group peer support, socialization and recreational activities at the self-help center at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital. Works with other peer provider(s) to run day-to-day operations of the self-help center under the supervision of the Community Liaison. Helps coordinate with hospital staff as needed and assists with community relations and other related activities. Qualifications: AA in related field with 1 year experience in the mental health field or H.S. Diploma with 4 years of experience in mental health field. Must possess excellent people skills; basic computer skills; strong assessment skills and organizational skills. Ability to manage crisis a must. Valid NJ driver's license required. Position is available Spring/Summer 2012. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Support Services, the Regional Coordinator will provide supportive housing services to persons served (individuals in recovery). Assist persons served (individuals in recovery) to re-establish valued roles in the community. Work in a variety of ways to promote self-sufficiency. Regional Team Coordinator will be responsible for supervising all teams in the region. Qualifications: Master degree in Psychiatric Disability or Social Work or in related field with 2 or more year of related work experience including 2 years of supervisory role is required. Must be LPC or LCSW or acquire within 6 months. Excellent written and verbal skills, strong assessment skills and organizational skills are a must. Ability to manage crisis; strong computer skills; valid NJ driver's license a must. Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Professional (CPRP) preferred.
